Initial Impressions: This looks like it will be cute and fun to watch.
This anime follows the story of a boy whose motto is “If I don’t have to do it, I won’t and if I have to do it, I will in as little time as possible.” He likes to refer to himself as an “energy conservationist”. I like his character cause he comes off as the type of person who can’t be bothered to do anything, but he’s not judgmental of people who do like to do things. He just doesn’t. The story starts off with his sister asking/blackmailing him to join the Classical Lit club. He does so despite not wanting to.
When he gets to the club room, inside is a girl with violet eyes. She’s very pretty and we find out later that she comes from a well-known family and is very intelligent. She’s one of three initial members of the Classical Lit Club and she’s super into mysteries. We find this out when she learns that she was locked in the room before our main character arrives. He has to use a key to open the door, but she insists that the door was unlocked when she walked in. He suggests that maybe she locked it behind her by accident, but his best friend points out that from either side, the door needs a key to be locked. So, she couldn’t have locked herself in by accident.
This leads them on a journey to solve their first mystery together about what happened. The next day, another mystery comes up and they go out to solve it. This seems to be the theme of this anime. It seems somewhat like Scooby Doo in some aspects, but there’s no talking dog or a hippie van. It is really nicely drawn though, and the way the main characters experiences things is… unexpected but very cool. His thinking and analytical skills are very cool and I like the vibe of it so far. The animation is nice too and the attention to detail when the main character is having a “moment” as I call it, is really very good. I’m excited to keep watching!

The Otaku Couple
I found the first arc of this series reasonably interesting, but none of the later ‘mysteries’ really managed to be all that compelling. The characters remain pretty cute but they don’t really progress either.

I actually finished it the other day and I understand what you mean. Once the “big mystery” was solved, the others kind of fell short. They were cute and kind of stagnant though, however there were little moments of growth that I liked. It was kind refreshing for it not to be mostly a love story though

True, but yeah, the other mysteries are just kind of there to give the kids something to do for the rest of the episodes.
